since i was a little celeste
and noticed my uncles teeth and chains and rings;
and recognized deities & gods decorated in body ornaments;
and unintentionally sought after womxn who adorned themselves.

In my self-directed residency with Briar de Wolfe (whom I met in 2018 💃🏽💃🏽), I explored wax modeling using jeweler’s wax, beeswax, and carving tools they provided. They cast and polished my pieces, while I supported their jewelry workshops through co-facilitation, media, and admin work.
That time gave me the space to see that jewelry making is truly accessible.
Jewelry making is vast AF, and I’m excited to keep learning and figuring it out.
